The reason why we eat sandwiches is here. It’s homemade mayo and it’s amazing.

Combining ideas from Elana’s Pantry, Nom Nom Paleo, my humble self and the magic of an immersion blender; I made some crazy easy and delicious, paleo mayo.

Arm yourself with an immersion blender

It’s really not hard.

Pro tip!

Make sure all of your ingredients are room temperature. Which means: leave your eggs and mustard out for a bit before you start. And if it doesn’t work. Don’t throw it out! Leave your non-emulsified-almost-mayo mixture out for another 20 minutes or so and then give it another go.

  • 1 squirt mustard of choice (room temp!)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • pinch salt
  • ⅓ cup olive oil
  • ⅓ cup grapeseed oil
  • ⅓ cup liquified coconut oil
Instructions

About the Author ()

Lillian's Test Kitchen is an online cooking web series. The recipes in this series are always grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and cane sugar-free. The recipes are also all (at this point) paleo. Some are vegan. Some are raw. I use the best ingredients I can find (and afford). But Lillian's Test Kitchen is not so much about food as it is about the experience of trying something you have never tried before and then finding the joy, comedy and laughter in those small moments in spite of and also often, because of dietary restrictions. My goal is to inspire others to take their health into their own hands and make their own food.

A Lillian original – love it. Love your recipe. I too make homemade mayo…it’s pretty amazing how fast it turns. My kids think it’s magical *science*. But I don’t add honey…love this idea and I am going to try. How I’ve missed your videos. Your hair looks adorable. Great recipe. Pinning fo show!
